A popular park in Hong Kong, Disneyland and Ocean Park, were closed on Sunday, January 26, 2020 to prevent the spread of the corona virus, which appeared in Wuhan City, China, according to state media CCTV reports.
However, activities at hotels in the Hong Kong Disneyland complex continued as usual, CCTV reported.
The Shanghai government on Friday (24/1) announced that Shanghai Disneyland will also be closed starting Saturday (25/1).
Chinese people start Friday on a seven-day vacation in the framework of the Lunar New Year. In that period, amusement parks are usually flooded with tourists.
China has confirmed that until January 25 there were 1,975 patients with the new corona virus and 56 people died from the virus.
The virus originated from the center of Wuhan City in Hubei Province late last year and has spread to other Chinese cities, including Beijing and Shanghai.
In addition, people with the virus are also found in the United States, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Australia, France and Canada.
Meanwhile Pope Francis prays to China due to outbreak of Coronavirus for the dead, sicks and also their families victims.
“I would like also to be close to and pray for the people who are sick because of the virus that has spread through China,” Francis told tens of thousands of people in St. Peter’s Square for his weekly message and blessing.
“May the Lord welcome the dead into his peace, comfort families and sustain the great commitment by the Chinese community that has already been put in place to combat the epidemic,” he said.
