US intelligence says Russia will again interfere in the US presidential election in 2020 to win Donald Trump for the second time as president.
Three top officials of the US intelligence community explained to CNN about the results of their meeting with the parliament last week describing Russia’s efforts to interfere in the US presidential election.
CNN, February 21, 2020 reported, top US security official Shelby Pierson explained in full the Russian efforts to disrupt the presidential election including crackling, attacking social media and electoral infrastructure.
The White House official revealed that President Trump was angry at a meeting with National Intelligence Director Joseph Maguire last week for allowing information about Russia’s intervention in the US 2020 election to be presented in parliament.
James Clapper, a former national intelligence director at the time of President Barack Obama, told CNN during the Wolf Blitzer “The Situation Room” on Thursday night that Russia intervened again in the 2020 presidential election which was very predictable and not very surprising.
“This is not a big surprise, but it represents an extraordinary challenge for the intelligence community where they found facts that the president did not want to hear, and as a result the messenger of Joe Maguire was asked to resign,” Clapper said.
Maguire officially resigned after President Trump decided not to elect himself as leader of the intelligence agency on a full-time basis. President Trump called Richard Grenell, a loyalist and currently serving as the US Ambassador to Germany as Maguire’s successor.
Democrats expressed concern over the appointment of Grenell who had no intelligence experience. The party questioned whether Grenell’s appointment as a maneuver over Trump’s anger against Maguire who revealed that Russia would again interfere in the US 2020 presidential election.
