President Joko Widodo or Jokowi acknowledged that there have been positive cases of the Corona virus in Indonesia. Jokowi said that two Indonesian citizens (WNI) who were infected by Japanese citizens who were positive about Corona, then visited Indonesia some time ago.
“The mother and daughter, the two people are in Indonesia. Already in the hospital. The 64-year-old mother and 31-year-old child,” Jokowi said at the State Palace, Jakarta on Monday, March 2, 2020.
Despite the Corona case in Indonesia, Jokowi said, the government was very ready to face it. “The government is ready from the start. We have hospitals, equipment and SOPs that have the same standards as the existing international standards,” Jokowi said.
“The government also has a budget and has been prioritized. Because if it is not serious, it is very dangerous because we need to be aware of this disease,” Jokowi said.
Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto said the Indonesian citizen was positive the corona virus contracted during the dance with his colleague who was a Japanese citizen.
Terawan said that one of the female patients danced at a club with her friend. A few days later, the sufferer had a cough and fever. He was able to seek treatment but did not recover. “Then, he asked to be treated because the cough was not lost,” he said, Monday, March 2, 2020.
According to Terawan, at the end of February, his dance partner called. He reportedly was convicted of Corona when he returned to Malaysia. “He told me that he was being treated for Corona positively,” he said. Terawan said after that the patient was referred to the Sulianti Saroso Hospital.
